Four of our All Saints’ youth, Mason Tabura, Asia Vito, Eryn Yamashiro, and Grace Yatsko, graduate from Kapa'a High School on Friday, May 19.
Graduates, we are so proud of you not only for your academic accomplishments and reaching this milestone, but for the thoughtful, kind and generous energetic young people you are. You are great examples of poise, service, and grit and already have so much potential to brighten and change the world. We are committed to supporting you and your needs whether it’s a conversation, discernment or just a good meal. As you venture into the next phase of your life please remember that you have a home at All Saints’ and in this 'ohana.
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you : wherever he may send you;
may he guide you through the wilderness : protect you through the storm;
may he bring you home rejoicing : at the wonders he has shown you;
may he bring you home rejoicing : once again into our doors.
On Friday, April 28 at 6:30pm we will meet in the youth room to plan our youth worship service and talk about EYE. Please RSVP below or with Sierra so we can be sure to have enough pizza (thin crust vs. pan crust debate may happen as well).
I can't wait to see y'all there!
Starting TODAY I will start doing "office hours" at the Starbucks by Safeway every Thursday. Stop by to get a drink (my treat) and work on your homework, ask about a church question, or just talk story. I hope to see y'all around!
Aloha youth group and parents!
It was great to see y’all on Sunday in our own space. I’ll keep everyone posted on how we’re coming along with clearing out the room so we can get the carpets steam cleaned, and then we can do a makeover day, probably on a Saturday morning or Sunday after church.
I will need to know if you want to go to the HIM Youth Conference by Feb. 12, if not earlier! The conference is on Oahu from March 16-18 and it’s a great precursor to EYE.
Moving forward, I would love to use Episcopal Curriculum for Youth during our time together. Check it out and if anyone is super stoked on a particular topic, you can lead it with me!
At our meeting on Sunday we talked about scheduling our time together on a month to month basis.
Mark your calendars, our next gathering is February 12 at 11am in the youth room! You’ll have a chance to ask Fr. Ryan and I any questions you have about church, faith, God, and all that jazz. Please bring at least one question with you to get the dialogue going.
As always, if you have any questions please contact me!
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had fantastic and safe holidays and are getting excited for 2017. The Diocese recently posted the application for EYE 2017 and I wanted to make sure you see it, if you haven’t already. We can talk more about what else we need to do to prepare for the event at our next youth meeting on January 22, but the first step is to apply. Remember, they need to be signed by Fr. Ryan, Uncle David, or myself.
Applications are due JANUARY 13!
Here is the link to the website where you can find the application form.
We can send them for you if you turn it in next Sunday, January 8, or you are responsible for getting it mailed to the diocesan office.
If you have any questions filling it out, you know how to reach me.
Good morning everyone!
Our Annual Holiday Craft Fair is on Saturday. Nearly all of our spaces are full and we’ve raised about $2500 already just from vendors. We are very close to making this a success, and with your help I’m sure it will be a great event. I feel so blessed to know that our church ‘ohana is really coming together - from parking to the food booth to setting up - to help the youth of our church. This is how we live into our mission, vision, and call and I am so grateful to be alongside you in this.
TODAY, Thursday, December 1, we will be setting up the popup tents outside and the tables in the gym. We will start set up at 4:30, please come as many hands make for light work. I have the map for the gym and lawn. We can also talk about more details for Saturday as a group.
ON Saturday, if you are able to help with the food booth or parking, please plan to be at the church by 7am. Vendors will start setting up at 7.
Again, thank you all for helping me catch up to speed with this event. This is my first time organizing an event like this and it’s been really helpful and wonderful to have your knowledge, caring, patience, and assistance. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.
And let’s all pray for sunshine and clear skies on Saturday!
Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, for CAYA this week we'll be talking about gratitude, giving, and God. Bring your questions and an open mind. See you tomorrow at 6:30 in Memorial Hall!
I know the plan was to connect this past Sunday, but due to Fall Break absences and folks with other obligations, I decided to postpone our meeting to next Sunday, October 23. In the meantime, I’d still like to highlight some exciting stuff going on with our youth group:
The youth of All Saints' are invited to a beach bonfire and barbeque at Lydgate Beach Park on Friday, October 28 at 6pm. This will be a chance to spend time with one another, talk story, play games, make music, and unwind.
Please RSVP to Sierra by October 26.
